Adolescent Level 0.5 Drug and Alcohol Education


Level 0.5 Drug and Alcohol Education is for youth ages 12-18 who are cited or arrested for a DUI, alcohol related, or substance related offenses.  Mercer FRC provides a 3 day course, totaling 8 hours on a quarterly basis. Participants must be referred to take this class.


Mercer Family Resource Center does not conduct Substance Use Assessments for youth. Please have your ASI/ASAM completed with the appropriate collateral for the class.


CLASS REQUIRED PAPERWORK:

  • Completed ASI (using the collateral listed below)
  • ASI letter of recommendation stating 0.5 Treatment Level from agency that completed the ASI
  • Proof of income for sliding fee scale
  • $20 registration fee (towards full fee)
  • Fee between $80-$145

COLLATERAL REQUIRED TO BE USED WHEN CONDUCTING THE ASI/ASAM

  • Arrest record from the client's respective city and county.  Casper/Natrona records are available at 201 N. David St.
  • Affidavit or ticket from current incident
  • Blood Alcohol Content (Breath Test)
  • Driving record from the Department of Transportation

Class Schedule:

Three day class:

  • Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 
  • Must take classes in sequence
  • Cannot miss any of the three classes
  • Held quarterly
    • Monday & Tuesday classes 4-7pm
    • Wednesday class 4-6pm

Drug & Alcohol Prevention: Underage concerns, consequences and long term effects, different types of use and severity
Coping Skills: Relationship between individual and their substance use, evaluating the substance use, culture and risk factors
Action Plan: Impact on life, targeting your goals, and looking at strategies for making better decisions
Safety: Overdosing concerns, the law, your health, impaired driving, and evaluating addiction
